It’s got to be one of the easiest things in the world to focus on all of the bad instead of the good. Sometimes it feels like the burdens outweigh the blessings, and I know we have a tendency to let burdens weigh us down. The thing is, God never intended for us to bear our burdens alone in the first place, much less let them overshadow our blessings.
We were never meant to walk through life carrying the full weight of worry, fear, anger, or sorrow. We’re supposed to take those feelings to God and lay them down. We’re supposed to give it all to Him. Christ died for us so that we could come to know Him. He’s been bearing our burdens since the beginning.
All He wants is for us to come running to Him. He doesn’t want us to suffer. It’s quite the opposite, in fact. He wants us to find rest in Him, and we can only do that when we recognize the blessings and let Him take the burdens.
In this world, no cure can be found. So I come to You, Lord, and lay all my burdens down.
